The International Anti-Poaching Foundation (IAPF) is pleased to announce that an anonymous donor has committed to matching every dollar raised from July 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023 up to $10 million USD.  Operating for the last 13 years in Southern and East Africa to provide innovative, community-driven conservation programs, this gift will help support IAPF’s strategic plan including the expansion of its wilderness portfolio from 8.5 million acres to 30 million acres by 2030.  As the largest single gift the IAPF has received, it is a testament to the outcomes and overall support of this organization across the globe.

IAPF Founder and CEO, Damien Mander said “This generous donor is committed to the IAPF’s work and hopes that their gift will inspire others to give generously.  It comes at a critical time as we increase capacity to protect landscape scale ecosystems.  Supporters now have double the reason to give and increase their impact. Literally, every gift, grant, donation, fundraiser, pledge, or bequest will be doubled.”

The IAPF currently employs ~500 community members across 8.5 million acres of protected land in Southern and East Africa.  Their Akashinga program trains and deploys women from local rural communities into ranger roles, while addressing the broader needs of surrounding communities at large, including education, clean water, healthcare, and infrastructure development.

The anonymous donor said “The IAPF’s continued impact on the communities it serves continues to stand out.  While seeking to invest in the protection of nature at scale, I have been impressed with the IAPF’s foresight to see that when social issues are addressed, the conservation problem can be solved.  The work the IAPF is doing in the women’s empowerment and gender equality space while helping to protect these critical lands is something I am driven to be a part of. It is unique to see at such scale.  I trust others will see the impact this organization is generating and offer their support to scale the IAPF even further.”
